Putting an End to Voter Disenfranchisement

Many people believe that the Jim Crowe laws are dead; however, some would argue that we are still being affected and inhibited by them today.  A portion of those laws stated that those who received criminal convictions would be unable to vote.  As a result nearly 5 million American are left without a voice, and most of them are no longer in prison.  The House Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing to determine if, when, and how the rights should be restored.  To follow the story, visit thehill.com.
