Kids Today, Download Programs, and Access to Information

It’s always been a kind of cliche to lament how easy it is for young people today, and how hard it was for the generation that preceded them. At least since the time of Aristotle, there have been rants against the unruly youth who don’t recognize how good they have it. Taking a moment to remember what growing up was actually like usually brings forth some uncomfortable reminders of its inherent difficulties. Internet-enabled communications devices mean that most arguments about quantifiable matters can be settled in seconds. It’s amazing how much technology and information kids have access to these days. I was in high school when my parents got their first cmputer…complete with dial up internet! Now kids have their own computers and cell phones etc. It’s just crazy how fast technology progresses and grows!
