Putting in a swimming pool is one of those big decisions that lead to even more decisions. Home owners think that making the commitment to put in a pool and choosing a builder is the end of the decision-making process. But they couldn’t be more wrong.
One of the first things that Houston pool companies will need to know before they can even provide an estimate for a project is the type of pool desired. This is quickly followed by the size, depth, and shape of the pool. Customers should keep in mind that location will impact those elements. The next big decision is materials. In addition to the main material for the pool, fiberglass, concrete or vinyl liner, there will be choices for deck materials, decorative tile, and even painted murals to be made.
Next up is features. The days when a swimming pool was just for swimming are long gone. Many pools today have spas (attached or detached?), water slides, and diving boards. They may have waterfalls, sprays or even fountains either in or near the pool. This doesn’t even begin to cover landscaping, lighting, and decisions regarding pumps, filtration systems, and whether or not to heat the pool.
None of this is designed to discourage anyone from putting in a pool . It’s just best to understand that there’s more to putting in a pool than simply saying Put in a pool.
